Ambrose Ali University is sitting on a time bond as Lawson Omokhodom an Ekpoma chief who was recently appointed as the Pro-challancellor of the University, notorious for grinding every establishment placed under his watch is about to add AAU to his list of grounded institutions with his executive rascality and Insensitivity to the plight of the institution.
Our investigations reveals that the Pro-chancellor who have totally usurped the offices of all the management team and assumed the duties of the administrative head of the institution has insisted that the management must buy him an eighty million Naira(80,000,000) jeep as official vehicle without recourse to the financial state of the school at the moment. Being that new intakes has not been admitted and the school is not generating revenue.
It was further revealed that the management is considering withholding the salaries of the staff to enable them meet the lofty demand of the pro-chancellor who is not bothered about the survival of the institution.
Chief Lawson was quoted to always threaten members of the university council and management that he has nothing to loose if the school is crumbled, that he will siimply travel abroad and seat down.
Some prominent members of Ekpoma community who pleaded anonymity at the moment has vowed not to allow Lawson to succeed in his devilish scheme to destroy the institution which has stood as a source of prosperity and development for the town, threatening to sue the management of the institution for financial mismanagement if they dare succumb to the demand of Lawson at the datriment of the hardworking staff of the institution who have put in their best to get AUU to it's current state.
Sources very integral to the management revealed to our team that since the appointment of Chief Lawson Omokhodion as a pro-chancellor the entire management have been living in fear and are placed under duress and are not allowed to carry out their constitutional responsibilities. They further stated that the Pro-chancellor has practically taken upon himself the administrative responsibilities of the institution.
No wonder over three banks were grounded under his watchful eyes, and in most of those cases financial mismanagement and illicit practice have always been blamed as the main courses of liquidation of these banks.
A member of the university council who also chose not to be mentioned reliably informed us that Cheif Lawsone treats them with absolute disregard and disrespect and never cares about the opinion of others.
Our correspondent reached out to the vice chancellor to hear from him on these matter but he declined to make any comment on the subject, rather he insisted that it is the University's internal business and that he will not like to join issues with the media on matters that are likely to bring the institution to public glare.
We therefore whish to call on the Governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to quickly investigate these allegations and call the Pro-chancellor to order before he plunges the University into a state of quagmire as rumours are already making the rounds that Obaseki sent the Pro-chancellor to destroy the institution to enable him shot it down.
